Who’s Who inb the video for - (You Gotta ) Fight for Your Right (To Party!) as told by co-director Adam Dubin (with some reminders on the names by Sean “the Captain” Carasov, Bosco, Sunny Bak, and Aura Walker) The two nerds. The one on the left is Ricky Powell. He was a photographer friend of the Beasties. Mike D , Ad-Rock, and MCA otherwise known as the Beastie Boys hated (You Gotta Fight) for Your Right (to Party). This breakthrough track became a legendary music video on MTV but for all the wrong reasons. The woman who plays the nerds’ mother is the real-life mother of co-director Ric Menello. The Beastie Boys gave my generation an anthem to strive for something good and just. That was when I realized I had a few rights. (Thanks Beastie Boys!) During government class, the review of the Declaration of Independence let me know I could pursue happiness. And, if I needed to, I could fight the system to get it. Com was curious about what went into the creation of the " (You Gotta ) Fight for Your Right to Party" music video. Never before has the story been told, so we are delighted to be a part of this first. The story between how and why The Beastie Boys wrote “Fight For Your Right” in five minutes alongside Rick Rubin.
